I've always assumed she's an adult, she's CERTAINLY an adult in Muffeteertale (she's like, 30) but apparently some people think she's a child?? Which to be fair, she is kinda tiny, and named after the nursery rhyme 'Little Miss Muffet' who is a kid. But I just assumed it was because she was a spider, and I feel like Toby would've made it clear she's a child? Idk
