I also lowk headcanon that he likes having his hair washed while he sits all pretty in the tub. It’s a nice change from how his arms hurt having to be meticulous with his hair care.

Oh absolutely.

My personal headcanon is that our lovely Suguboo initially grew his hair out as a child to look more like his mother, and I totally believe that in a world where this is true (my world lmao), he would have watched her care for her hair with rapt attention, soft brown eyes glossy and curious, and slowly overtime he would have decided that he wanted to look like her.

Because of this, I also believe that he would have gotten the idea of braiding hair together young, likely when he saw his mom doing it to her hair, and then his own when he asked.

Like, imagine sweet little Suguru watching his mother braid, eyes tracking the way she weaved the hair about, and realizing that she could do that with both of their hair at once. I absolutely think he would have wanted to try this. And personally? I think his mom would have been willing to entertain the idea, no matter how silly it would have seemed to an adult. THAT SAID I also think she would have made him do it, teaching him to braid so he could engage in his curiosity with his own two hands.

So, when it comes to braiding his hair together with others, I can totally see this as something he would have done while lazing about at JJT, in those in-between hours where life felt simple.

Delicate fingers spinning hair like silk while he either talks to you and others casually, or even in silence while Satoru and Shoko bicker about something that the latter is absolutely right about.

Casually sitting at your side shoulder-to-shoulder when the braid is finished, hair textures and colors creating a beautiful pattern while combined, his head tilted in your direction for a reason far more personal than just the hair that binds you both together.

I think he would have found comfort in taking something he adored and making it a part of him, no matter how temporary it might have been. After all, knowing he was absorbing curses so frequently, he more than likely felt soothed by the taking up of goodness on or within himself, even if his demeanor didn't exactly show it.

And when it was time to seperate? I wholeheartedly believe he could undo hair like no one's business regardless of texture with hardly any snagging or pulling. That beautiful man has always had a delicate touch and I will die on this hill.

Still, as an adult? I think that whether you were doing it with him when he was younger or not, he would find comfort and nostalgia in it. There's a pattern to braiding, a gentle give and take to create something new, and he would adore the fact that you'd trust him enough to let him bind the two of you together in such a physical manner, no matter how simple it may have seemed.

And as for him enjoying his hair being cared for?? Oh don't even get me started.

Again, I think he finds a lot of peace in things related to hair, because I personally believe that taking good care of it was something instilled in him at a young age. He likes the repetition and the routine of a care regimen, whether its his or yours.

For this reason, I think he adores having his hair washed or otherwise fussed over, because it not only allows him to bask in such gentle affection, but also show his trust in you as well.

After all, he's always taken such great pride in his hair, and we can see that in his responses to the insults he receives about it (our sassy butthurt king), so to allow you such unrestricted access is a show of his faith in you and the affection you feel for him.

“In ‘n out.. there we go..” one large hand comes to rest at your back as you crumple into Hayden’s chest. Painful cramps shoot up your insides as your uterus wages war on itself. Period pains are nothing new to you, but today it was just too much.

Thankfully, coming home and crying into your boyfriend was just as cathartic as you’d imagined it being. Hayden was nothing short of a saint around this time, feeling extreme empathy for your condition for the week every time it came.

His hand finds your abdomen and begins to rub gentle circles on it “I wish I could make it go away baby..” he mumbles soothingly, nuzzling the crown of your head.

“You’re doing so much more than you know..” your voice is small and vulnerable, a gentle murmur of pain mixed with exhaustion.

It was true, Hayden did make the pain go away. His scent and warmth and want to make you feel better made you feel better, even when it felt like your insides were being wrung like a wet towel.

He presses both warm hands now on the bottom of your belly “I’m glad I could help..” he kisses your hairline “I’ll get you some tea..” he mumbles domestically. “And we can watch a movie.. what’s that one you love about the vampires?”

“Twilight?” You mumble happily

“Twilight.” He chuckles “.. ‘nd we can cuddle all of tomorrow, I’ll even run you a bath. I’ll do anything for you, baby”

The words flow through your body, you allow your like to ease, knowing that even when you were punched with your next wave of painful cramps, Hayden would be there to ground you. He’d always be there.

“I’ll be a moment, I put a blanket in the dryer for you” he coos before making a break, sprinting to the laundry room and quickly retrieving the warm fluffy throw. You don’t even have time to miss his touch before you’re wrapped up and cradled.

You giggle happily as the soft flannel covers your body “you come in here too..” you open the blanket, gesturing him over.

Hayden makes a show of being mock exasperated “well if I have to” he rolls his eyes and scoops you up, laying down and setting you on him. “Happy?” He jokingly scoffs.

You settle down and cozy in, listening to him fiddle with the remote and the subsequent sound of twilight coming from the TV.

“Never been better” you yawn happily, dozing off to Kristen Stewards voice.
