White: Serra Angel

Starting with White, im going to go with Serra Angel, though Righteousness is an honorable mention if anything for being much less common than Serra is.

Blue: Spell Blast

Im picking Spell Blast for this slot simply because all of the classic blue cards in this set are power 9 or just really solidly strong like Counterspell (the honorable mention).

Black: Hypnotic Specter

Honorable mentions go to any of the numerous graveyard effects and Sengir Vampire. Not much to add that hasnt already been said.

Red: Lightning Bolt

Respectable power level and is a color defining card. I really couldn't not pick this. (If i didnt, it would be Shivan Dragon)

Green: Giant Growth

While i was originally going to add a mana dork in this slot, i decided im going to add those kind of cards later on once multicolor synergy and conditions start being added.

Wildcard: Howling Mine

Multicolor doesnt exist yet, the non basic lands arent really a thing, and most artifacts are busted or useless. So im picking howling mine if anything because of the symetrical effect.
