Hello readers! Enjoy reading our Day 1 experience in Coron City! We had so much fun exploring the City! Coron is really not just about island/lake. There are so much more to it! Lets start!
On the way from Busuanga Airport to our hotel! The drive is a bit long but this is really enjoyable! Make sure not to take a nap as the view of mountains and fields is so nice! You can definitely feel the ‘province’ vibe!
Pork/Liempo, Tapa & Cordon Bleu!
We decided to have our breakfast at Lolo Nonoy’s Food Station! Food is great here - big serving and reasonable price! Pinoy classic faves (Si-Log, Bulalo, etc) are present in the menu! We love it here so we actually came back on our last day.
Arrived at Coron Westown Resort! Will talk about our hotel on another blog, feel free to read about it here.
Yummy foods before our Town Tour! Luckily, our hotel has its own restaurant so it’s very convenient for us. Italian foods included in the menu! Yay!
Lets start the town tour!
Can you see the Sleeping Giant?
Here in Lualhati Park! You’ll visit this place often before and after island tours!
We just rented out a tricycle for this whole day city tour for 600php. We were 5 so it was 120php/each for us! This is so not bad especially the way to Maquinit hotspring is a bit far.
rough ride, hold tight! Instant 4x4 experience? lol!
Next stop is the San Agustin Church, its not that big but worth visiting!
And now we’re headed to Mt. Tapyas! Best time to visit is around 4pm to catch the sunset! You just need to walk from the church though, the road on the way is uphill so it’s a bit difficult for the trike!
Nature <3
Tourist van and vendors below! Our trike driver waited for us here!
View from below, ready to climb up! 724 steps, here we go~
Just view from above..
There are resting areas on your way up. You can stop while you catch your breath and enjoy the view!
I took many pictures here! I feel like the view is different every steps. Lol
600 steps already! Its cool to know how many steps you’ve already climbed up!
And yeah! Finally at the top! So loooove this view, totally worth the climb!
The famous Mt. Tapyas cross!
‘Game Face on’
Love this photograph!
And here to more sunset pictures! So pretty, right?
After perspiring a lot from the Mt. Tapyas hike, we went to Maquinit Hotspring to relax! We stopped at Cashew Harvest on our way, the famous shop for Cashews as it was featured in documentary shows. There were many tourists there and also the price of cashews and pasalubongs is a bit expensive. just a tip! Better to buy at the city than here! I was not able to take picture as it was just a short visit.
And we finally arrived! I forgot how much the entrance fee is. About 150 or 200!
The hotspring is so relaxing! 20 - 30 minutes for me is already enough. This is one of the few saltwater hotspring in the world! So interesting!
(Photo not mine!) Ctto
Afterwards, we ate at Carl’s BBQ for dinner as it was recommended to us by one of the tricycle driver we previously met!
We were totally disappointed by their service! They tend to prioritize foreigners than locals! Food wasn’t that great either. We definitely not recommend eating here!
Anyway, that was it! We contacted our rented trike/kuya and he accompanied us all the way to our hotel.
We had so much fun for this day 1. The Mt. Tapyas and Maquinit Hot spring is definitely the highlight of our day!
