My Dream Travel Destination
Coron, Palawan is one of the most beautiful travel destinations here in the Philippines. The jaw dropping sceneries is just worth seeing with your bare eyes. It is filled with bone-white beaches and jade colored waters that are an eye-catcher especially for tourist and travelers. It’s simplicity and sophistication makes this one of the best destinations here in the Philippines.
Coron is a tiny, laid back fishing town with friendly locals. Some of the residents live in houses that are over the water. Just behind Coron is Mount Tapyas, the second highest point of Coron. To enjoy the spectacular view over the seaside, you need to climb 725 steps to reach the very top of mount Tapyas.
The small town offers quite a vast array of restaurants, local eateries, banks, and now they even have an ATM (which might not work, so it is adviced to bring enough cash in order to prevent shortage). It’s peaceful at night, there are minimal to hardly no parties going on or anything that could be considered as a nightlife.
Unfortunately there are no good beaches nearby. The beauty of Coron is located out there and you definitely need to avail some island-hopping trips to find those white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. Coron has some pretty astonishing lagoons, surrounded by cliffs and limestones. The main attractions are the freshwater of Lake Kayangan. If you’re a diver, you’ll probably love Coron. From Japanese shipwrecks from WWII to colorful corals, with its lively marine life. Coron is considered as one of the best diving spots in the world.
My favorite destination in Coron was without doubt Kayangan Lake, The freshwater lake is completely surrounded by tall limestone walls, over and under the sea.
The only way to access it is through a steep 150 step climb over the rocks. It is like entering a secret place. Once you get there, the views are extraordinary. The water is incredibly clear, refreshing, and has this beautiful teal color, it’s such a delight to dive and snorkel inside the lake.
What I love about Coron was that it was less touristy. The locals seemed more friendly and helpful. It was pretty easy to find good and cheap food and hotels in. And speaking of easy, getting to Coron is a breeze, thanks to direct flights with Philippine Airlines.
You might be wondering, why is it still considered as my dream destination despite the fact that i have already been there? It is because I want to experience the beauty of Coron again. I want to catch a glimpse of the breathtaking scenery, the teal waters, and the limestone rock formations. If I have been given the chance to go back, I will. I could say that i have already achieved my dream of going there, but I want to achieve it again.
