Manufacturers skip Moto GP Series Ownersā Dinner Event out of Protest
The moto gp has new owners starting from 2026, but the main objective remains the same as under the previous management, money. Manufacturers and series promoters are still negotiating over a better share of the commercial revenue, but talks have currently reached a standstill.
As tradition dictates, a dinner event was organised for manufacturer representatives. However, KTM, Aprilia and Yamaha reportedly did not attend the dinner at all. Ducati and Honda were present, but without several key figures from their organisations.
The absence was seen as a protest from the manufacturers, who are pushing for a larger share of marketing and commercial revenues. The promoters are reportedly unwilling to meet those demands, which has increased tensions between both sides.
The situation has not pleased the new series owners, who have since taken a tougher negotiating approach. Instead of negotiating collectively through the MSMA, the owners have reportedly started holding separate talks with each manufacturer. A move many believe is intended to divide the group.
That strategy already appears to be having an effect. Honda and Ducati are said to be more open to reaching an agreement, while Yamaha, KTM and Aprilia remain opposed. Whether the manufacturers and promoters can reach a final deal under the new management remains uncertain.
