I'm having the first really bad day with my sleep stuff in about 3 weeks. Here I was really thinking that maybe I was cured.
I'm under/feeling so much pressure about buying my first car. But I feel really rushed to make this huge decision and disappointed that with my budget I really just have to settle for anything that runs. And besides that, on a day like today I would not be able to drive. It honestly feels like in my condition it would be even worse than drunk driving. It's that debilitating.
I can't deal with my sleep stuff returning because I'm already falling behind on EVERYTHING that I need to do in my life. I don't have extra energy for anything else. I don't even have the energy for what is already on my plate and I really don't have time time either because, I've tried, but I can't function on less than 9.5 hours of sleep a night.
If the sleep clinic doesn't cancel on me again, I'll get in there around Christmas. But from what I've read, the test they're doing is inconclusive like 50% of the time and can be a false negative or positive 30% of the time. It's seeming more and more like I have something more rare, so I don't really see a lot happening for me in the next 6 months other than more doctor's visits.
I'm at the point where doctors are telling me that they're "at a loss" and there is 1 more test they can do and there really isn't anything they can do for me except prescribe stimulants (which I don't do well with.) I keep feeling pressure to squeeze myself into a diagnostic box for my doctors. I can describe very clearly exactly what I experience, but it's not what my doctors want to hear because it doesn't fit any diagnosis for them.
So it's a rough day. If you have any car advice/insurance advice pls drop it in my ask :)

I conducted my first formal assessment today! I had a gorgeous, compliant little boy, and my supervisor was very supportive and helpful.
We realised in the car on the way back to campus that we forgot to get a photo to mark the occasion, so instead hereās a selfie (or should I say, CELFie! ha!) of me in the library starting on marking and reports.

If you work in a hospital, as a speech pathologist, you get to wear a white coat. You also get a pager and sometimes even a stethoscope. Looking like a real doctor! If you do enough assessments, OH&S regulations mean that you also have to wear a radiation badge. Looking more like a doctor every day. And then you get your paycheck and you open it up every fortnight. Nope, I'm allied health.
