I finished Le Tour Du Monde En 80 jours ! I was a bit sad to see there aren't many fanarts of the book characters, I guess I have to make them myself :D
I do have a question, tho. Ms Aouda is an Indian woman, but she is specifically Parsi, aka zoroastran and not hindu. (It did lead me to discover what zoroastrism is and it was really informative but that's beside the point). My point is, from what I read, she shouldn't have the tilaka / tika on the forehead, as I saw on one or two fanarts, because that's a hindu practice. But she should have her hair covered - at least because it's 1872, it looks to be more lax now.
Can any parsi person confirm this ? I started drawing her but I found only 1 old picture of a parsi family. Are there pieces of jewelry specific to parsi culture ? Are there colors with significance, that I should avoid or use on her clothes ? Are there practices that she would bring with her after traveling the Atlantic ?
