hiiii tj i just wanted to say tysm for the ask!!! πββοΈπ i will be following up asap, but before i do, i just wanted to drop by to scream in your asks (as opposed to ur dm's lol) about my FAVOURITE nevermoor theory, the five years wintersea's basement theory!!!
the very first tumblr post u made about it was a beautiful and very informative read, and the theory in itself is so innovative and well thought out, but i wanted to ask about an important part of it that often gets left out when talking about "haha missing character in maud's basement", which, admittedly, is my favourite running gag in the fandom.
how do you think corvus is involved with everything? i definitely think he is, but right now he's in the middle of my corkboard with all his links, which so far for me are:
his five years as chancellor of great wolfacre lining up almost perfectly with the disappearance of rosie and arj
arj's job as an interrealm diplomat being political, (which could be an explanation for why he's there)
bertram "you don't just change your mind about joining the wintersea party" crow and his weird nosebleeds (???)
and meredith darling and whatever hand she might have had in all of it (with the rest of his politcal careear in great wolfacre)
like. corvus becoming chancellor around the same time as rose and arj disappearing is the thing i keep circling back to. that's not a small thing!!! that's not a coincidence!!! but omg you are such a genius for catching that. and there's also the idea that arj's diplomatic connections could have been leveraged somehow (???) or the thing corvus used to secure his position could also be food for thought.
but also. ALSO. if ornella was involved in any capacity, that recontextualises everything jessica has been doing with her across the whole series. like she's been slowly softening ornella, giving us just enough to make morrigan (and us) want to believe in her, only to potentially reveal that morrigan really has NO decent family members on that side? damn.
anyway. enough of me rambling about it. what do you think about corvus and his connection? i'd love to hear YOUR thoughts about it. π
i don't know if i believe corvus is actively involved in their disappearance because he just doesn't seem to be that kind of politician, he's still trying to make inroads into federal politics by the time of nevermoor, as an example, i actually doubt if he knows all that much about the free state if at all. HOWEVER what i do think may be the case is that something happened around corvus' election that rosie and arj were entangled in and caused their disappearance
