Just came upon this shot I did in 1989 of a ‘close personal friend’. He was taking flying lessons at the time and flew us from Van Nuys to Palm Springs in an ancient little Cessna. alcohol/drugs warning???? Alcohol was never enough for Jesse. He drank and drank, to the point he could chug neat whiskey like it was apple juice. Him inheriting his mothers bar didn't help him any more. Hed spend his days in the bar, playing his piano while his cigarette burnt out in the whiskey glass. Nobody was there to hear his tunes, until they were. “Bravo, Jesse. You always know how to raise someone's mood!” The voice echoed throughout the room. An all too familiar voice Jesse didn't want to hear in moments like these. “Not in the mood, nutjob.” Jesse groaned, his thumbs still holding down the piano key. The insult did not deter the man, instead fueling it. “Nutjob? You know my name is Arthur already. Or were you too drunk to remember?” Arthur couldn't help but coo, his introduction conspicuous as always. Jesse just shook his head, his eyes never leaving his beloved piano. Arthur could he heard humming a tune, footsteps approaching Jesse. “Alcohol was always too weak for you, wasn't it, Jesse?” He continued. A nerve could be seen in Jesse’s neck, his patience thinning by the minute. His fingers started dancing across the piano tiles again, hoping to drown out Arthur’s voice with the music. The other man just gave out a quiet chuckle, standing beside the musician. “Maybe,” Arthur pulled out a little baggy, holding it out in front of Jesse's eyes. “Youve always yearned for something stronger.” The piano slowly died down. Arthur was never truly wrong. Was he?
