he’s trying. merlins, he knows that potter is trying his best right now to be understanding ( something neither of them really ever seemed to be before ) ; but war changes a person for the better, sometimes the worst. it has a way of ash settling in bones and leaving a mark no one else can see. maybe, maybe they were always different. but maybe sometimes they were only standing a few feet apart, back to back, fighting an entirely different war.

there’s no FIGHT in his voice ; because draco is not blind to the bad he has done. he was arrogant, a brat, and obsessed with trying to make the world PURE. but oh, how the tables turned. he barely manages to glance over, looking at the boy who died. the boy who lived. the boy – the MAN – he owes his life to.
