Yes, romantically it happened with a friend. I don’t know if it was super unexpected but I did believe it wouldn't happen. As for platonically, I guess with someone who I now consider to be one of my best friends. I had a wrong impression of him at first but that goes to show you how you can’t stick with first impressions!

In a few words: some psychological shit that people like to do but they are not aware of it. Don't pay attentions to them. They are insecure.
It's totally entirely possible that they're not aware that they're doing it, but it makes this situation a lot more cynical if they were aware :\ hopefully they are ignorant of it and someone will bring it up one day and they'll cease it.
