last thing ill say about the callout doc is it really is a lot of old stuff. like late 2010s. that or things that one could argue are red flags but at the end of the day mr circus papa hasnt Actively hurt anybody. they havent put anyone in danger, or abused or extorted anyone, at worst theyve done things with their ARTWORK that were considered cutesy, funny, or normal at the time or done without much thought that i dont think should turn people severely against them in the way that keeps happening over and over because it keeps getting brought up and used to attack them. its totally fine and valid if these things make you too uncomfortable to continue to support them and their work, but to me despite the fact it may be uncomfortable at worst, its not enough for (again, ME, PERSONALLY) to drop everything and walk away. not until we have concrete proof that someone has been hurt, instead of just. moderately distasteful or uncomfortable storytelling or artwork. and this is coming from someone who doesnt wholly agree with everything theyve done! (i didnt like the description of monroe as a “lil korean hoe” as a korean person, youd think a mixed artist would be sensitive about microaggressions but whatever it was a dumb mistake)
if you look at how the document is put together its very clearly just a lot of cherrypicking things to make their work look as incriminating as possible, and then throwing out a couple wild theories that dont have any real evidence (faking asexuality, secretly being onion, etc. they throw shade at the fan discord too — something about it being down for maintenance for months when it should be noted the server is run unprofessionally and unofficially by a small handful of teenagers and young adults with their own lives)
i would say if youre younger i fully support your decision to move on if you so choose. after all these works are NOT intended for the audience theyve reached. but if youre a grown adult in the fandom just think about all the context and nuances of the situation for a second is all i ask. and to everyone here, please dont harass papa or anybody on either side of any argument about all this (even if theyre straight up like “they DID do that disgusting shit and they should be proud!” that is disgusting but we need to be mature, block, and not engage, these people will face the consequences or learn on their own!!!!)
