✄ if i say anything potentially insensitive or ethically dubious feel free to ask for clarification! i am very opinionated but sometimes i say stupid things by accident because they sound different in my head ✄ over all my opinions and takes on this series i obviously do not support things that are Objectively Bad (ex: all of the abuse and harmful behaviors that occur in ghost eyes) im not a terrible person i swear. i just like considering things from every angle when given a little sandbox of blorbos to examine. just because i can understand why a character acts a certain way or i think theyre interesting or really cool in the series does not mean i think what theyre doing is good!!!!!!

✄ henceforth, this blog exists for me to post my analyses of these characters and potentially discuss with others who may or may not agree (without being scared theyll come after me on my main), im more than happy to talk to people about it as long as we both remain civil and respectful!!!!!

we also know Very well (unfortunately) that a good bit of mr edburts leverage is acquired via sexual harassment such as flirting with, groping, or licking his victims to make them uncomfortable because hes a weird little freak and i hate him. sorry thinking about this is so genuinely repulsive. he Definitely takes pleasure in making people uncomfortable which could also be an erotic thing(???) but i havent reread edburts sections in a while so bear with me. but the point is here his excitement isnt Because its children he is targeting with this kind of harassment. i think upon being in this situation with another adult (ex: someone like ada finch if she didnt have her own leverage + was shown for longer etc) he would use the same tactics to get that power. he likes this kind of shit because again hes gross and weird and i think something kiraba did to him after his death?) (may just start callig it doomsday) mustve fucked him up real bad. because i LOVE august edward and i think to some extent he might still exist. we did see him with silas in an earlier page but i digress.

and again this doesnt mean hes not Something. hes still a child (+ everybody) toucher and here is a reminder that im NOT TRYING TO ARGUE THAT HE ISNT ANYTHING outrageously horrible. just that hes not this one specific label of a person/character.

my final point is broderick fae himself my darling beloved boy!!!!!!!! before "doomsday" august edward raised this kid since he was like???? probably around 8-10? idk i cant guess ages but pretty damn young. and they had a perfectly happy and healthy father-son dynamic (up until mr edward started losing his marbles). absolutely 0 trace whatsoever of anything unsavory. and of course "mr edward wasnt Everything Mr. Edburt Is so why would this matter" im getting there hold on. even as mr edburt he still has that paternal attachment to broderick as shown in the one panel with tobias and gregory where edburt-tobias goes “WHERE. IS. MY. BOY.” and tobias isnt even vulnerable at that point, so its not like his possession was bound to happen. hes just asking about the history of the family so he can figure out whats happening to him. typically when mr edburt takes over him tobias is in some kind of negative state (ex: sleep deprived like in the very beginning, or stressed out like during the play) but mr edburt just forces his way up into his brain (sudden irritation and jumping to control) once he cant take any more waiting. this is something that iirc we have NEVER seen him do before, so obviously there has to be some kind of REALLY strong incentive to take charge like that so violently. this and other instances clearly confirms he still really cares about broderick as his son. which this isnt to say there arent loving parents who are normal about their kids but also pedophiles because those i guess could exist? but i would guess with this and also the fact edburts worst behaviors have gradually been reduced since earlier chapters now that mcp has grown as a writer i would definitely understand that maybe thats not the kind of character theyre trying to write. again i could always be wrong but thats my idea

all in all we all know the demonic entities in ghost eyes get a lot of enjoyment out of the pain and suffering of mortals and "playing with their food" if you will. but i dont think its particularly fucking with children that really enraptures them. especially when children are basically just pathetic little pawns or like baby animals to beings like edburt and kiraba. why would lusting over those little worms be more enticing than enjoying their suffering In General.
