I always enjoyed how Pearl´s and greg´s relationship developed in the story.At the beginning of the series Pearl hold a grugde against Greg. She thought that he had ¨stolen¨ Rose from her, she didn´t exactly hate him but she was uncomforable around him.
Other hand Greg thought that Pearl hated him because Rose had ¨choosen¨ him over Pearl
¨But I knew how you felt about Rose, and I stayed anyway.¨
In very subtle ways the show develops their relationship, such as when Pearl repairs Greg´s van and he gives her a hug as a thanks
However there was this tension between them, Greg wanted to make up with Pearl.. he just didn´t know how. Steven took note of this and asked his dad to let Pearl go with them on a vacation.
In the song ¨Is over, isn´t?¨ Pearl admits she wants to leave her past behind her and talk to Greg, the main problem is that she can´t help but think about how much she misses Rose.
After having a small talk, they both realise how similar they are, they both love Rose and gave up everything they had to be with her. In the end they both bond over how they miss Rose so much, helping each other with coping with her not being around anymore.
