It's nice to think about Mr. Standish being nicer to the kids. Idk I like to think that he can be strict from time to time but overall he does care about the kids and their education.

Also I think it would've been cool to see his relationship with Jimmie since they were forced to be in the same house in the first book (correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think it was ever mentioned Mr. Standish moved out of Jimmie's house so mayyybbee they still live together) like Mr. Standish is Jimmie's almost father figure or smth (that one might be a stretch)
