"the old flamingo was better" sentiment and why it FUCKING SUCKS

Now, within the flamingo fandom, many people come from many different "eras of flamingo". Some coke from less than a month ago, some from 2023, some from 2022, some from 2021, some from 2020, some from 2019, some from 2018, from AlbertsStuff, and so on and so forth.

Many peoples childhoods were affected by this man some refer to as father, because he has truly raised many of us.

Some people, that began watching him from years before, may miss his older content, or his older jokes, or his older fandom.

And you know what? That's OKAY.

But what I feel like is sorta crossing a line, is when you start making public speeches about how he "used to be better". Used to be funnier, cooler, more buff??, etc, etc.

While this may not seem like that big of a deal, and it truly may not be, it irks me

It's fine to prefer his older content over his newer, or whatever. You're not morally obligated to like his content all the time.

But I feel like some people don't realize that Albert is a real person?? And that comparing someone to how they used to be and saying how their past self was "better" in any way can actually be extremely damaging to ones psyche??

People do that a lot to me, and trust me, it does NOT feel good.

I used to be smarter, I used to be nicer, I used to be friendlier, yada-yada. I get the shtick. I get it. Y'all hate me, whatevs.

So when I see people saying that "the old flamingo was better", I don't know, it gets on my nerves

You're talking about a real person. Sure he's a YouTuber, a content creator, an entertainer of sorts, but he's still a real person and it feels odd to criticize a real person like this

If you like his older videos, then watch his older videos, you don't have to leave comments or make videos about how his new videos, or by extension how HE HIMSELF sucks or is bad.

Idk where I was going with this.

It's actually pretty nice to know that he is just a chill person like anyone else

Also as much as I irrationally love Albert the part where he said thay Albert treated the situation irresponsibly is a bit true

I didn't know that people DOXXED him though. That sounds genuinely horrifying and I really don't know why people would do that
