OH BOY HOWDY DO I EVER! well they're not all angsty. But I have a document of all my headcannons I will post under this . They're mostly post cannon headcannons.
bc it’s miss. peregrine’s birthday (and i’m bored), here’s what i think the peculiar’s look like/what i associate with them:
Jacob: tall and lanky, bright blue eyes, short black hair, 5’9”, very pale and sunburns easily. favorite color is navy blue. scent i associate with them is forest/pine. sound i associate with them is crickets at night.
Emma: tall-ish, 5’6” or 5’7”, sandy/dirty mid-length blonde hair, green-blue eyes, pale. favorite color is cream or a sunburnt orange. scent i associate with them is campfire smoke. sound i associate with them is crackling firewood.
Hugh: very tall and skinny, 5’11”, short dark brown hair, hazel eyes, slightly tanned skin, freckles for days. favorite color is golden yellow. scent i associate with them is fresh honey. sound i associate with them is bees buzzing.
Fiona: medium height and build, 5’6”, long tangled red-orange hair, deep green eyes, very pale. favorite color is evergreen. scent i associate with them is fresh flowers or the air after it rains. sound i associate with them is wind rushing through a field or the croaks of frogs.
Millard: very tall, 5’10” or 5’11”, deeper voice that makes him sound older, short brown hair, brown eyes, long legs, super skinny. favorite color is tan or warm brown. scent i associate with them is old books. sound i associate with them is flipping pages or pens scratching on paper.
Bronwyn: short and muscular, 5’5”, short brown hair, pudgy build, always has a kind expression, warm brown eyes. favorite color is bright red. scent i associate with them is fresh linen. sound i associate with them is boulders colliding.
Horace: short king, 5’3” or 5’4”, short light blonde hair, deep gray eyes, resting b*tch face (but is terrified on the inside). favorite color is charcoal gray. scent i associate with them is strong cologne. sound i associate with them is a running sewing machine.
Enoch: also a short king, 5’3”, pudgy build, short dirty blonde hair, dark brown (almost black) eyes, extremely pale. favorite color is maroon or black. scent i associate with them is fresh clay. sound i associate with them is a beating heart.
Olive: short and tiny, 5’0” (5’1” with shoes), long brown hair, light brown eyes, light tanned skin. favorite color is any shade of blue. scent i associate with them is an ocean breeze. sound i associate with them is rushing wind.
Claire: smallest peculiar, 4’11”, light blonde hair with ringlets, light blue eyes, pale with light freckles, sour face. favorite color is pink. scent i associate with them is children’s perfume. sound i associate with them is clinking china/porcelain.
Miss. Peregrine: kinda short, 5’5” or 5’6”, long black hair always up in a bun, steel blue eyes, think eva green in penny dreadful. favorite color is deep blue almost black. scent i associate with them is pipe smoke. sound i associate with them is high heels on wood floors.
WHY IS NO ON TALKING ABOUT MISS CUCKOO!! She was made for the girls, gays and goths. She is described as having short silver hair and a velvet suit. She also is French. No wonder Enoch fell in love with her right away. This is what I hc her as looking like and wearing. I also hc her as being from a loop in the 80s. (correct me if im wrong)

honestly, only he can answer that, i have NO idea. probably some morbid curiosity, or an unchecked and festering dark fascination with collections. some want to experiment in the same way his brother does, not to play it safe
i can just assume it was some sort of ... very dark time for the whole household but also him mentally, like he just decided his experiments couldn't play it safe anymore (maybe after abraham he went off the deep end and decided screw it i am going to do human experiments and i am going to keep LIVING relics in my museum.)
maybe it was symbolic, maybe he felt hidden away and frozen in time, permanently stuck, or maybe he wanted power and control over something, or maybe he thought that was a way to keep people safe, or maybe he just couldn't afford wax figures
but in any case, its such an odd divergence from his moral compass, isnt it? all of his other bad deeds were well-meaning mistakes in some capacity, even what he did in the end of LoS could be seen as a good gesture if you see it as an attempt to trap caul. He seems just like an unlucky man, but now he's an unlucky man who also froze PEOPLE and put them on display.... and maybe he never let them go because he thought... oh well itd be so difficult now all this time has passed,, im not equipped to deal with that.... and as time went on and on it got harder to do so, so he thought itd be safer for these people never to feel the horrible mental burden of being frozen for decades

ooooooo good question! long post ahead
nim: theyre close, they share enjoyment for a lot of things like the museum and reading etc etc, and sometimes they can sit and talk about these things, i think bentham was just a bit dismissive of him in LoS bc he needed to get on and talk about important things with the kids (over tea ofc). They overall know eachother better than any other people, even family (though that's hardly surprising). I also think nim's got some sort of emotional attachment to bentham and found it hard when he became "permanently indisposed" and bentham and him spent a lot of valuable time after caul fell asleep in TDoDA catching up lol (ToT). in my au where bentham didnt die at the end they take more time to just settle down as a duo (i dont necessarily ship them but i defo see the angle) and nim enjoys being able to get bentham more to himself because he's not working for anyone anymore, and theyre both ramblers but both also really like to listen to the other talk, sometimes for hours. they'd also both stick to loops, even after there was no need. it's more comfortable.

shares a room with hugh (canon) & its an organized chaos that works very well.
Emma
writing notes >>> texting any day.
i feel like she cannot cook either. one little distraction and boom, the whole meal is up in smoke.
immune to spice. a spicy pepper is like a cucumber to her.
hates the cold, so she enjoys winter in florida.
starts to wear jeans & pants more and is falling in love with it.
in my mind she’s still dating jacob. i know.

has been taking online college courses without telling anyone.
has accidentally spent a night in barnes & noble after being locked in while invisible.
avid booktube watcher?!? kinda wants to make videos like them, but.....he’s y’know invisible.
is also a great artist. he can paint with fiona for hours while hugh watches.
has a perplexous fan account that jacob made for him accidentally.
Bronwyn
gets way too invested in the plots of kids shows. the others will catch her watching disney or nick junior by herself.
is in a bunch of parenting facebook groups giving advice to a bunch of middle aged moms on how to treat their kids properly.
goes to ALL of claire & olive’s activity’s. soccer game? there she is in a homemade t-shirt with their names on it. school play? she’s in the front row crying.
barefoot 24/7 but wants to stop because claire & olive want to copy her & what if they get hurt????
has single handedly kept this family together during this quarantine.
Enoch
2020 as a human being. you think it can’t get any worse,,, but then....
“that’s what she said jokes” 24/7 and everyone HATES it.
used being in quarantine as an excuse for anything & everything. washing the dishes? “but, we’re in q u a r e n t i n e miss.”
likes hiding the others stuff and waiting weeks until they figure it out. “where’s my book?” “oh yeah, i tossed that two weeks ago.” “you what??”
has worn the exact same outfit everyday to the loathing of horace & ms.p.
Horace
loves horrible puns. “do you want to hear a ghost joke? that’s the spirit” will make him cry laugh for hours.
plays modern music on the piano.
“i don’t care if people see me or not, i’m wearing the suit.” - his quarantine motto.
absolutely horrible at video games, it’s not even funny watching him.
his camera roll on his phone is 99.9% mirror selfies of himself in different suits. the other 0.01% is a blurry picture of enoch.
Olive
avid watcher of disney tv animation shows. gravity falls & the owl house are her faves.
has made multiple powerpoint presentations (after jacob taught her how) on why they needed a dog.
has hid on the ceiling in the house and watched as people panicked looking for her for an hour.
has a single stuffed animal. it’s old. it’s falling apart, but she A D O R E S it.
wants to play minecraft 24/7 but miss.p says no.....
Claire
unlike olive, she has a billion stuffed animals and makes jacob drive her to build-a-bear often.
wants one of those princess-themed beds from rooms-to-go kids that they advertised in the early 2000’s. (y’all know what i mean.)
knows the plot of every disney movie and can guess them in a few words.
miss.p’s little shadow. she will follow her everywhere and take notes on everything like she’s seen millard do.
the BIGGEST tattle-tail. this is also 100% cannon.
Miss.P
watched the news once, turned it off ten minutes in, has not watched since.
likes modern day literature and talks about it with millard constantly.
when she’s not busy, which is very rare, she’ll sit in her room and knit or needle point.
the children got her social media as a joke, but now she has a ton of followers and no one knows how.
finds modern music “absolutely atrocious”. “what could he be needing to say with so many swears so fast!”
