You have probably heard of the Mozart effect, the theory that gained popularity in the 90's, that listening to Mozart can make children more intelligent. While Mozart's music may be intellectually stimulating for some people, it probably won't help them get into Harvard. However, experiencing the new frequencies may push our mind to new heights and ways of thinking. Music may help one feel mental clarity, inspiration and a greater connection with the self and other people. So my question to you is not about whether the music can make a person literally smarter, but rather how does it affect the listener? Is it possible for music to stimulate us into higher states of mind, and improve the way which we interact with the world around us?
