The tea aroma of the dry tea cake is mild to the point of not being able to identify one. After an initial wash I let the leaves sit for a few minutes to wake up and a light, but robust cookie dough with hints of yeast and a bit of malt starts to infuse the gaiwan. This aroma continues through most of the steeps only occasionally allowing small hints of the earthiness that I'm searching for. No fish or car-tire, thank goodness.

Very pleasant Tea ! I prefer the earthier puers, but this one falls into the singularly ripe category. It is smooth from the beginning with some earthiness, but focusing more on the rich malt and throaty sweetness without being heavy. Very balanced and clean with no funky after-flavors. It starts to get mildly dry in the latter steeps, but again, not unpleasantly.

The tea infusion is an almost purply-brown with a little more cloudiness than I prefer, but not so much that it turns me off. It steeps easily 10 times and the flavor is generally consistent from one steep to the next.
