Miles âTailsâ Prower moveset (for my dream Sonic the Hedgehog video game)
Now iâve come with the sequel to that Sonic moveset post: the one for the 2nd main hero of the franchise. True to his character, he utilizes his tails and a handy combat weapon to get around and fight off enemies.
Like with Sonic, I want to give all these character-specific moves some utility. However, iâm keeping it reasonably limited for a platform game, because if I tried to squeeze in all of Tailsâ gadgetry and other skills, itâd become a real mess.
Propeller Attack: It gives Tailsâ body a handy upper hit radius while in flight.
Propeller Flight: a classic. Not only can it carry Tails a good distance, but it will also maintain his gathered momentum, especially when descending. It lasts for 8 seconds and can be cancelled into a mid-air roll.
Propeller Flight Dash: a useful trick for when a quick burst of forward momentum is needed in the air. On itâs own, it lasts for 4 seconds, and can be cancelled into the regular Propeller Flight or a mid-air roll.
Tail Swipe: useful for quick attacks and deflecting projectiles on the spot and on the move, plus itâs got some good range.
Rapid Tail Swipe: along with the regular attackâs benefits, it can defeat tougher enemies more quickly, slightly slow Tailsâ descent in the air and extend the hit radius. Extended use, however, can make the little guy dizzy.
Tail Slam: it comes with a good hit radius all around Tailsâ body and can give him a little extra bounce off enemies if his namesakes connect.
Remote Bomb Aim: he simply aims the bomb in his hand forward, and the trajectory can be adjusted by moving. Out of all of Tailsâ weaponry, I have to say this makes the most sense for a platform game.
Remote Bomb Throw: the bomb is thrown, and it will roll around until itâs detonated or it touches an enemy or something harmful. It can gain itâs own momentum from slopes, bounce off Springs and get blown away by wind currents.
Remote Bomb Detonation: when the bomb blows up, the explosion radius will hit anything from any angle. It can also distract enemies to keep their attention away from Tails, and knock off shields.
Remote Bomb Drop: an aerial throw that can send the bomb in forward in a curve or straight down depending on Tailsâ momentum.
Remote Bomb Snipe: for extra precise aiming into the air or onto the ground, and keeping your distance from traps and very dangerous enemies.
Blast Boost: a special boost in speed or height provided by the Remote Bombâs explosion, always good for reaching top speed or making Tailsâ flight abilities look even more powerful.
High Propeller Flight: a quick burst of vertical speed that adds even more airtime and reaches even greater heights. It lasts for 4 seconds, and can be cancelled into the regular Propeller Flight or a mid-air roll.
Cannonball Dive: a Spin Attack where Tails increases his falling speed by spinning his namesakes in ball form. This negates the bouncing effect of landing on enemies and gives off a stunning electrical effect. I came up with this one because I think if Tails is gonna have those things dangling off his ball form, why not use them in that state?
Tails has speed thatâs high, but not as high as Sonicâs (of course), medium jump height and power equivalent to one hit point of damage.
His Signature Blast, the Cyclone Assault, has him call upon his Cyclone walker, and it effectively turns the game into Sonic Adventure 2â˛s shooting stages, but with more speed and the walker being invincible. While the Cyclone is active, the Cross button makes it hover, the Square button fires off the Vulcan Cannon, the Circle button fires the Homing Rockets, R2 makes it dash, and L1 charges and fires the Power Laser.
This is what I think would be appropriate for my favourite Sonic the Hedgehog character. I may have based some of this off ideas iâve seen in the fan game community, but it simply makes a lot of sense to me. If you have better ideas, I sincerely would like to see them.
Next time on My Dream Sonic the Hedgehog Video Game Movesets, I will cover what I figured out for Amy Rose. If one @skull001â happens to look at my posts, I think they might like what I do for her. SPOILERS! My hypothetical Amy moveset goes for the approach of a certain early 2000s handheld title.
