It wasnât that Faith didnât want Buffy to tag along -- sheâd love to throw back to the good olâ days, if they were really that good. Yâknow, before she went and blew everything up by throwing in with the Mayor. But they were older now and things werenât so simple. Especially considering the blonde had recently just come back from the dead.
Faith was furious with Willow for reasons the redhead couldnât understand. The Scoobies all thought the dark Slayer was glad to have B out of the way, which couldnât be further from the truth. But what they didnât know, didnât feel, was how deeply Buffy had been at peace with her sacrifice. Slayers saw their predecessors die in dreams all the time -- it was a cosmic lesson from the universe not to fall in the same way. Drowning, stabbing, and so, so many teeth. But Buffyâs was different. The bright light, the warmth. And Sunnydale couldnât see a path forward without her, but that was how the world worked, right?
Slayers called, Slayers died. No one wept -- except for this one.
No one would cry for Faith, would they?
