What I should be writing: defect plot that gets me to the point that I can write unrepentant smut in the defect universe

excuse me? automatically excusing someone from doing a very obvious N@zi salute because they're autistic and 'wouldn't understand' is crazy.

stop assuming autism = dumb. everyone can be harmful regardless of neurotype.

Aside from the fact that it feels like my entire world is crashing down on top of me and I really wanna tell specific people about it but they're all going through so much of their own shit and my problems are completely insignificant anyway so I'm just stuck pretending I'm completely fine infront of my family and everyone else

i actually do, sorta kinda, ship sasusaku. i absolutely get what grabbed so many people by the throat over a decade ago, so much so that they never shook the ship (especially for people for whom ss was their first ship).

in this day and age, we argue for our ship on the basis of “morality”, which makes me, to be frank, fucking furious. i shouldn’t need a forty-five minute slideshow, a degree in both law and ethics, and four personal character references to defend my interest in smooshing two fictional characters’ faces together. while i understand where some anti-ss people are coming from in their arguments, i’m not so much furious about the toxic canon dynamics as much as i’m furious about the way both sasuke and sakura’s character arcs (but especially sakura’s) got absolutely butchered so that gaiden can be “oh it’s all good nothing bad to see here we’re all so happy (except for the way you can see us dying inside)”.

i don’t necessarily want my ships to be healthy. i want them to be interesting.

i actually pretty much ship team 7 in any configuration (narusasusaku ftw, narusaku is one of my fave brOTPs, obviously i ship kakasaku), because my favourite ships are the ones where the characters are such a tangled mess of history and hurt and love that it doesn’t matter quite how they end up together or as what, just that they do (in every universe they do). like, i am a Fan of codependency in my fucked up problem children, ok?

and i’m perpetually annoyed that the current State of Fandom takes that to mean that i actually think people in real life should be fucked up flaming disasters of need who can’t breathe without other people.

unfortunately, i don’t think canon could ever do enough of a heel-face-turn to make me forgive the total and absolute characterization slaughter that is post-699. (especially given the infuriating and obvious sexism of it all.)

that said, i do sometimes read AU sasusaku (i’m currently especially fond of gaiden AUs where sakura and sasuke are platonic life partners) and narusasusaku. i’m just comfortable in my little slice of fandom that i’ve carved out and don’t currently have any real interest in dedicating my time to finding some fic writers whose sasusaku dynamics i like, given the fact that the naruto fandom at large is a terrifying cesspool of antis and hate (as is true of any large fandom).
