In Steve Hackett's autobiography there's a fun anecdote mentioned, about a dinner party with Robert Fripp, this took place around the time "Selling England by the Pound" was released. See for yourself the quote.
So with my friends we sat and discussed; "what kind of cheese was this that got him basically banned from any Fripp's party."
We sat with this question for quite sometime. Months passed and Steve Hackett was touring through Latin America with Genetics (Genesis tribute band) and of course I bought a ticket.
Like I usually do, I was going to go to the hotel, so, I went. There's more story to it but I ended up asking him about this Cheese Incident. And guess what. He laughed his ass off when I asked him: "what cheese it was that got Robert so mad he never you invited again to a party".
The answer?
IT WAS CHEDDAR CHEESE. CHEDDAR. CHEESE.
He had one piece too many.
