Today I drove further west to Ruby Valley, Nevada, the setting for my play #MountainLaw. Just about a year ago I wrote a thing—a dusty, windblown, romantic attempt at theatrical poetry. Last night these lovely people took it and brought it to life in ways that were both expected and not, and I’m so grateful. I’ve had a rough couple of months artistically, trying to reconcile failure and negativity with perseverance and confidence.
