Yesterday we intended to check out a series of large, mountain-top vernal pools which have been loaded with frog eggs & salamander larvae in past years. The 10+ miles of dirt roads started out clear, but the higher we went, the icier they were. The last mile--steep and covered with thick ice--wasn't doable. Maybe next week 🤞
