It’s a scuzzy fuzz fest of epic proportions on Motormind, the latest from Glasgow trio Baby Strange. There’s nothing “baby” about this colossal rock and roll jam. Motormind is a dominating force, a boisterous whirlwind. It motors and motors on, then drops us into a dark glowering bridge before lifting us back into the light with its raucous guitars and Johnny Madden’s lively bellowing. The rip roaring, swashbuckling tune comes ahead of a new EP entitled, what else, but Extended Play. The record is expected to arrive in July on Baby Strange’s own label, Public Records. It would have been an unforgivable sin if I’d left Pyramidal’s contribution to 2015 off of my end of the year catch-up. Spain’s premier psychedelic space rockers put out a split album with Domo this year, but hopefully we’ll get a full length out of them in the new year. I need a good 50 minutes of this!
