❝ But of course, it does. ❞
his arm SNAKES around her small frame, as his fine lips
curve into what could be mistaken as a genuine smile. he
pays no attention to the rest of the party. they’re standing just outside of the castle doors, she was gazing up at the
sparkling stars. him; all he was focused on was her much
more dazzling features.
her chocolate brown eyes, captivated by the
night’s wondrous stars. her soft, full lips a
beautiful smile upon her face. the way that
her dress unmistakably hugged her perfect
curves, and showed off all that was her.
SHE was what he wanted to spend the night with.
if only she would allow him.
it would be a great pleasure, definitely for the BOTH of them. he would
be sure to make it worth her while. being a gorgeous maiden from the
kingdom to the west, he knew he would need to make sure that she
could REMEMBER him. so he would humor her. if she wished to speak
about the stars, and wishes coming true, he would gladly oblige.
he was many maiden’s WISH.
❝ Tell me,
what would you wish for? ❞
At first she did not notice the palm at her back,
nor the arm around her form, too intent on the
heavens g l i m m e r i n g above them. It is as
she is drawn closer that chestnut hues fall back to
the oceanic eyes of the prince and almost
immediately,she STIFFENS, shoulders raising slightly.
A hand that had rested on his arm is removed quickly,
as though he were made of fire.
The words fell from her lips, no more than a whisper
yet distinct enough in such a close proximity. Pale
hands meet and grasp each other as she slowly
moves away from him. Her chin lifts once more,
eyes raising to the maps of constellations above.
"I do not know what more I could want for." the phrase
escapes upon the breath of a sigh as she perches upon
the short brick wall which safeguards the edge of the
patio on which they stand. From her place she looks out
over the stars that illuminate the expansive forest that
stretches beyond the walls of the castle.
"I am already Queen," she continues, though of course
her mother remains regent until she is of age to rule, or
married. "My home is a palace, I have lovely friends,
my country is at peace. What more could a monarch
wish for?"
Her smile is less genuine, unable to mask the bit of
sadness held in her eyes. Nothing. A Queen can
want for nothing more. This, she knows. However,
she is more than a Queen. She is a girl. And a girl
can want for far more than power and riches and
peace. A girl wishes for adventure, for freedom, for
FUN and f r i e n d s, and most certainly, for LOVE.
But of those wishes, friends are the only privilege
that she can afford to indulge in.
