I leaned back into Smiley as Grim stared me down, trying my best to keep my anxiety from flaring up. The Don was still intimidating when he wanted to be. "Hey Don. Sorry I made a mess of your brother, but I needed to make up for lost time." I gave him my best grin, the one that always failed to make me look any kind of innocent.
Grim gives you a look that feels like he's x-raying you. Then he pulls out a handkerchief from an inside pocket of his jacket and hands it to you. "Clean him up then," he says. "He's your responsibility."
"Can if you want, doll," Smiley says to you. "We got the evidence, and you can always redo it later."
"Not tonight, please," Grim says, making a face. "Try to let the bride and groom be the most...enthusiastic."
