How could I have forgotten Mort in my Ghost Story reflection?
The guy who said unironically “I’m not an action hero,” then borrows the strength of ghosts and beats seven shades (HA!) of shit out of a hired hitter.
The guy who calls himself a coward, then withstands a couple of days worth of torture by being dunked in a wraith pit while channeling Dresden in his retorts.
The guy who, after being tortured in said wraith pit, hauls himself up a flight of stairs, possibly acts as divine judgment and DEFINATLEY acts as the metaphorical double-tap against the Big Bad.
I kind of love Mort, would love to see him in the Grey Council and certainly want him to get a little more page time in the future.

"Okay," Mort echoed, evidently speaking mostly to himself. "I mean, it's not like I'm trying to join the Council or anything. It's one hour. Just one little hour. What could happen in one hour?" And that's how I knew that Mort was telling the whole truth when he said he wasn't a hero. Heroes know better than to hand the universe lines like that.
Harry Dresden (Ghost Story by Jim Butcher)
Been reading a lot of Dresden files and some Ace Attorney fanfic and started to wonder where the Fey family and the Kurain channelling technique would fit on the White council’s radar.
There’s a case to be made for Athena, Apollo, Trucy, Magnifi and Thalassa being minor talents as there was an FBI guy who interrogated Harry in Changes that Harry picked up having a minor talent for lie detection, so that’s definitely a thing in the Dresdenverse and Athena is still able to use Widget.
Nahyuta Sadmahdi could also qualify given the tendency to attract local wildlife, produce spiritual pink butterflies when not actually in Kurain and the use of the prayer beads of doom.
It’s just hard to know where the Feys, Amara and Rayfa would sit on the scale. They’re definitely more than minor talents, but be how much? Mortimer Linquist is mentioned as having power equal to Harry but was smart enough to keep it from the Council, can talk to spirits, but not as far as I remember channel them. There’s also the issue of the fifth law of magic being against necromancy and i’m not sure whether channelling a spirit qualifies or not. The White council also seems to prefer candidates to have a wide repertoire of magic with at least some combat application and while channelling a spirit for several days straight like Maya did in Spirit of Justice is impressive, it may not have much in the way of application. Amara presumably knows both the channelling and Dance of Devotion and Rayfa stands a chance of channelling in the future. There’s also the fact that Kurain is supposed to be near to Tibet so maybe there’s some Foo dog breeding going on in that direction.
If the two series crossed over there’s a good chance it would be due to Warden Carlos Ramirez, as I checked as he is based in Los Angeles, where the localisation is said to be set. However if Harry was to interact with the AA cast it would probably be around the time of the Original trilogy as from what I can gather from the Dresden files timeline is that Skin game was around 2014/15 while Spirit of Justice is around 2028 and who knows what Harry and company would be up to by then.
Ace Attorney fans, Dresden fans, any ideas on where the Feys fit in?

Mort, 1 minute before he ends up being an action hero in Ghost Story. Damn, the cowardly badass is going to be so much fun in this book.
