Resheph looks at Morrigan as he puts the fourth pizza in a row in the oven, he is listening to her as he places another one on the table in front of her and cuts it. She takes one of the triangular pieces but puts it on her plate to keep talking.

“So then he walks in…” she comments visible annoyed “and demands to see the body, he is shouting, WHERE IS HE, WHERE IS HE… that fragile soldier with the stab wound… why would he care so much?” she bites the piece of pizza angrily and chews with a frown.

Resheph quietly takes a piece and starts cutting it with a knife and a fork in smaller pieces. He takes one of them and eats slowly, calmly.

“I remember that day” he says quietly though he gets interrupted by her.

She slams the table with her hand “I’m a professional” she takes another triangular piece, bites it and chews it bothered “I’m death and destruction, you fool! I wanted to slap him” she screams, a pepperoni falls from the piece of pizza on her hand to the table.

“You shouted that at him?” Resheph expression is almost neutral because he knows that didn’t happen, but his mouth starts to form a smirk. At times, anger still amuses him, the loss of control tickles him.

“I did not” she finished the crust and takes another piece “I fully ignored him as I was on my way to take the soul to the underground” she sighs “He wasn’t punctual, he didn’t do his job. That’s not my problem.”

Resheph eyes roll. Inefficiency, especially in the middle of a battle, it also got on his nerves.

“So… he shouts at me again and I say: you raise your voice at me one more time and I swear you will end up dead like the rest of them" 

Resheph laughs unable to stop himself, moments like this made him remember why he liked Morrigan so much, apart from their inevitable connection, her being the goddess of death and him being the god of war, they had grown closer sharing similar views in eternal life. Maybe they would dare to call each other allies or even… friends. She was temperamental and unafraid, and he respected that.

“I would never not find it hilarious that you said that to Hades” he leaves the cutlery over the plate and keeps laughing.

“I mean, I obviously couldn’t actually kill him, and I knew and he knew, but you know I can be very menacing” she eats the last piece of pizza leaving both her plate and the one in the center of the table empty.

Resheph stands and checks the pizza in the oven, it will be done soon. Morrigan stays in silence observing him for a few seconds until the oven beeps alerting of the time.

“Ah… I wonder why I had the urge to come here and tell you all these stories again, like you didn’t know them” she says partially regretful, though Resheph can’t imagine her feeling regret for anything “I guess I’m just frustrated, human jobs aren’t as fun, though I do get to scream to a lot of incompetent people too but… it’s not the same…” she smiles “I guess I can count on you to listen to my complains when no one else will.” there is a pause, an unsaid thank you perhaps.

“Oh, sure.” he chuckles opening the oven and touching the hot metal with his bare hands as it won’t do anything to him, he takes the new pizza and put it on the empty plate “Whenever you are frustrated, just come in my house and eat all of my pizza.”
