The Nightmare's words win little more than a sneer on the Dream King's lips as he presumes to know just exactly how he works. Of course, Corinthian's statement may hold some truth to that, a truth Morpheus has long since buried deep within him, but that did not give him the right.
Dark eyes consider the Nightmare, black pools with twin stars staring back at him with only a slight tilt of his head, like this isn't his masterpiece he's speaking to, but little more than the disappointment that masterpiece has become.
"Lonely? You may be one of my oldest creations, Corinthian, but you have no right to construct imagined slights against me." There is anger clear in his features then and perhaps it is because of all his creations, Corinthian seems to know him the most, the Nightmare that manages to be a reflection of even its creator. Is it the wound to his pride that truly upsets him, or the burning disappointment he seems to be unable to let go of in regards to the Corinthian?
"I tire of your attempts to insult me, Corinthian." And just underneath his tone is a threat, the promise that he will not allow any further transgressions.
