Marrakech, Morocco.
"Brilliant stencil! Currently doing up the front room and could not find a wallpaper with a blue and gold trellis pattern. Would recommend buying a couple of the flock rollers as well" - Jennie, US

Colors, Textures, and Patterns, Oh My!
Through this journey - I am discovering the reason that so many artists have made pilgrimages here. The ornate patterns, bright colors and contrasting textures that I am seeing are so amazing. I am BEYOND inspired.
Each Berber village is known for a specific style of textile weaving. I learned this when we met a friend along the trail (below), who was hauling a load between villages. The Berbers use their unique textiles to communicate where the “shipment” is coming from to the receiving village.
The Berber houses have mud brick floors, so each family weaves their own rugs. Each made from a durable yarn, almost plastic in feel. Aren’t these patterns awesome? I love how they each have their own personality.
Each home had a similar door (metal with the applied metal filigree detail) but no two were painted the same. Here are some of my favorites!
The bright colors and bold patterns found in the guest houses immediately energized me for our daily hikes. You cannot help but wake up happy and ready to seize the day.
