“So, what’s on your itinerary?” Zander asks as he sits down next to Morgan with his coffee, while there was no denying he wasn’t exactly keen about this whole field trip thing, he supposed it didn’t hurt to ask - right? “I” m still trying to figure out what the appeal actually is, other than the public library, I suppose.” He was very underwhelmed by New York City so far. What separated it from every other city - who decided to live here? But, he supposed vacations really weren’t his thing given his reaction to all of the ones he’d taken with Luxor to date. As much as he hated to admit it, perhaps Lance actually had a point when it came to never doing this sort of thing with them growing up.

While Zander wasn’t the type to normally check on people he wasn’t close to, today was going to be an exception. Mostly because his friends were all in turmoil so he assumed the rest of the school would be too, but partly because he felt so guilty for not knowing what to do to help any of them it felt easiest to check on the person with the secret he actually felt like he could understand. “Mind if I sit?” He asks during dinner, gesturing to the seat across from her. 

She had been quietly grateful to see Morgan as her roommate for the duration of the event. Sure, they’d not talked much since the Valentine’s Day pairing, but Morgan had been nice enough - and Ruby was just grateful not to be roomed with someone who annoyed her. Right now, however, she had other priorities: mainly, lying on the couch, pushing her hair away from her face. “Is it just me or is it so hot? I swear the air con is doing the bare minimum. There must be an engineering fault.” 

Running into Morgan at some point had been inevitable - after all, they were both on the cheer team. Balo had to deal with her every day during practice, extremely aware that the other girl must have hated her guts considering she’d voted for her secret to be revealed. Still after practice, lately Balo had just been talking to anyone but the other flyer, falling into the habit of just going completely silent any time she noticed the other girl was in earshot. “So after I check in with the bases, I’ll text you to figure out times. I’ve gotta go find Zan though, I promised him we’d go grab sushi after practice, and the last thing he needs is to come here looking for me.”
