“It hurts.” buckynat
James knew the mistake he’d made as soon as he did it, the familiar yet sickening sound of her shoulder popping out of place from the way he had thrown her to the ground and twisted her arm back. They had been sparring just like any other day they would train together, neither of them giving up or giving in. In terms of what she could withstand, a dislocated shoulder was nothing, but Natalia couldn’t afford to falter. She had to be perfect. All of their supervisors were there now, watching, analyzing. There were only a few girls left now, some succumbed to the mission, others to the torture their bodies were put through. Most of them though, died at the hands of the four left standing. Natalia included. She was so close to graduating, to being free of the Red Room, he couldn’t let anything happen to her now.
James threw her to the ground and dug his knee into her back, tugging both her arms back and lowered his head to her ear. “Не позволяйте им видеть вас колебаться, Наталья.” His words were quick and quiet, the mask he wore covering the fact that he were speaking at all. “Встаньте и бороться.” James wanted to say more, but he needn’t do so in the end. This was Natalia after all, she wasn’t taken down so easily.
