In all seriousness though, YES I have headcanons! The twins often possess my thoughts day and night

Let’s go individually!

Morgan:

Was actually the first born, but no one was expecting twins, let alone conjoined twins, and in the mayhem that followed, this detail got mixed up

(This one I’ve seen around and agree with) His hand hurts more than Custis’s where they severed them. He also has numbness there occasionally.

Is the most “down to earth” out of the Pendleton sons. Doesn’t mind the courtesan’s calling him just “Morgan” without the honorific “lord”. This doesn’t mean he’s not a pompous asshole, though. Just slightly less so.

(This one is also universally agreed upon, maybe because of Treavor’s line “slightly larger of the two brutes”) Morgan isn’t as clever as Custis, but he’s more athletically inclined. Hunting, wrestling, boxing, etc. Rich people sports only, though.

If Custis wasn’t born, Morgan and Treavor would have gotten along fairly well (at least after their father died.)

He was their Mother’s favorite. She feared Custis.

Went to one of those Outsider worship circles at the Brimsley’s once. Saw a few premonition of his own death in the mines. Doesn’t try that again.

Fast to be provocation, quicker to violence, but he knows when he’s outmatched in both physical and mental capacities. Has no qualms with bowing out of conflict for self preservation.

Custis:

He’s ambidextrous!

I agree that he has chronic migraines! And I also think they’re what makes him so prone to cruelty.

He also has terrible insomnia.

He’s not a natural born genius or anything. He just works at it. Ambition is the only thing separating him and Morgan.

In the same way that Havelock and Martin thought they could manipulate Emily in their favor, Custis was convinced he and Morgan could do the same and that’s why he agreed to hide her away. But they had WAY less of a chance than Havelock and Martin ever did.

Speaking of Emily, she elbowed him in the nose during the first week of her stay with them and made him bleed. He would have actually killed her if Morgan hadnt been there.

He shares dreams with Morgan sometimes! Even after they got separate rooms (took them 20 years btw). And over morning tea he’ll often want to discuss them.

This creeps Morgan out btw.

Contrary to popular opinion, Custis does have a sense of humor! He does know how to relax and have a good time! He just can’t fucking afford to!!!!

8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?

Her sensitivity! I cry so so so easily. And honestly Dee cries less than I would if I were in her shoes lol.

12. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?

I’ve really struggled to grapple with both sides of her characterization! In my heart, she’s just whiny and bratty— despite how cruel and selfish she can be! Maybe I’m just seeing Dee the way she sees herself!

14. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

As said above, I need to keep in mind that Diana is not “just a silly girl.” In the same way that her husband is not just the “unassuming, charming twin”. It’s difficult because that’s how Diana views herself and her husband and I’m writing from her perspective (for the most part).

Aside from that, I need to also keep in mind that Diana is considered “new money” and that influences EVERYTHING. The way she talks, reacts to things, how she’s treated, how she behaves, etc. And there’s something freeing about that! I can write crazy scenes like the duel between her and Esma because, as Esma later says, Diana can get away with it because no one expects any better from her.
