“C’mon, L.,” Conner rolled his eyes. “Let me help you. You don’t have to do this alone.” Lena was stubborn to the nth degree, that was for sure. But it was a little annoying when he had the means to help her but she wouldn’t let him.

Conner nodded. “Mmm,” He had finished up a few minutes ago, which was semi-evident by him engaging more actively in their conversation. “Can we get ice cream on the way?”

Lena frowned worriedly, watching as Alex winced in time with her breathing. The danger had passed, but that didn’t mean Lena wasn’t still worried for Alex’s safety. For her well being. For her. It was so hard, sometimes, to be the girlfriend of the Director to a secret organization fighting aliens and terrorists.
Lena wouldn’t change that though, not for a thing.
“I happen to like you breathing,” Lena told her dryly, looking down with a serious look at her girlfriend. “Even if it’s causing you pain right now. You shouldn’t have gone out there like that, Alex. You could have gotten killed.” She hiccuped.
Alex chuckled from Lena’s dry remark, immediately regretting it; she had to work hard not to wince again, though the intense expression Lena aimed her way quickly silenced what was left of her laugh. The fear was clear behind Lena’s eyes - and that, in turn, made Alex’s heart squeeze with guilt. She reached to gently take Lena’s hand, lacing their fingers together.
“I know how hard this is for you and I’m sorry. This is not just my job, Lena. It’s my duty as Director. How can I ask my team to put their lives on the line without putting mine out there first?” Chewing on the inside of her cheek, Alex managed to stand upright without flinching.
"I can’t tell you what it means to me, to have you by my side. I just wish it didn’t hurt you so much.” Hesitating, Alex stared down at the floor, conflicted. “Broken ribs are nothing, compared to that.”

“It’s nothing too… big.” Lena said delicately, laughter in her eyes that invited Alex to join in on the joke, despite not knowing it. “I don’t want you to think I’m not … satisfied in bed, because I totally am,” Lena assured her girlfriend quickly.
“Just— could we see what you’re like with a strap on, maybe? Or teasing me with a dildo.” She raised a perfectly manicured brow, brushing some hair out of her face as she spoke. “I don’t want you to say yes because of me, I want you to want this too.” She added gently.
Alex knew that look in Lena’s eyes, the sparkle that spoke a thousand words while her smile said none. It was the look that said ‘I know something you’re going to like’. The second the conversation turned to the bedroom, Alex’s eyes widened briefly, her mouth parting for a solid ten seconds in surprise, gawping at Lena’s suggestion.
“I-...wait, are you serious?” Alex almost audibly gulped at the onslaught of, admittedly, arousing imagery that flew into her mind, turning her face slightly redder. “I mean- yes. Yeah. I’d like to...try that.” The usually composed Danvers had turned into a stumbling mess; hardly surprising given the discussion. “The first one.” Alex hurriedly added with a smile. She let out a breath of amusement down her nose - she’d just got the ‘big’ joke from earlier.

Olivia looked up from the tablet she was reading and chuckled softly at herself. Rambling, when was the last time she did that? Was she finally becoming more comfortable again? “Sorry. It’s been, a very long time since I was able to do so. Especially about science. My PhD wasn’t much use in office, other than to flex that I had one.”
