❝ that isn't exactly what you'd call ' subtle ' . ❞
It's such a coincidence that you posted about cisswapping because I'm considering doing a Rule!63 Wanda Maximoff & I completely agree that a lot of people switch genders without the proper reasoning or motivation; aka m/m ships, and that's ridic as hell. I can't female to save my life & it's not just because I'm gay, I just fail at writing females and I wouldn't want to do something wrong, you know? But I ALWAYS do the research and make sure things are done right. Your post though? I approve. <3
[ To quote a hero of mine; "If you can imagine a woman like that, there is a woman like that." Maybe I just find it easy to write any gender, but I've never really noticed a difference in writing male characters vs. female characters. That said, you are so not the first person to express that you have a hard time writing women, and you will definitely not be the last, but I might suggest, if you have an interest in getting better at writing women (and like if you don't have an interest in it, that's totally fine, you do you, just ignore me--only trying to help) that you try creating a female oc from scratch and just don't think about gender roles. Don't think about "would a woman do this?" think about "would a person do this?"
But anyway! Thank you for doing the research, thank you for doing things right, and thank you for this message <3 ]
