@moral-construct / @lea-khena ASKED:
Weavile somehow got back in time through one of these weird distortions happening throughout Hisui and before even trying to understand what was going on the instinct to sew chaos got the best of him and pushed him to seek shelter in a nearby heavy merchant bag which happened to be Volo's own very bag. Well this was comfortable. That travel through time and space sure had exhausted the small pokemon and it decided to take a nap hidden in the multiple items and blanket.
Once he was ready to go again, Volo put his bedroll on top of his backpack and strapped it into place. Lifting the bag onto his back, he frowned and wondered when it had gotten so heavy. It felt like it had almost doubled in weight, but surely that wasn’t possible. He must have been tired, that’s all.
For the next hour or so, he went about his business as well as he could, but his back and shoulders began to ache. He also noticed that Arcanine was following him much more closely than usual, sniffing at his backpack.
“ Miss Arcanine! You know that’s not where we keep the food... ”
But she wouldn’t quit, so Volo decided to stop for a rest, letting his bag slip gently to the ground. After rolling his painful shoulders a few times, he threw Arcanine some beans. That would usually distract her, but this time, she continued to hover and fuss around his bag. With a sigh, Volo withdrew Arcanine back into her ball.
I must have put something in here that I shouldn’t have.
Volo removed the bedroll and set it aside for now, so that he could open the top of the backpack. He immediately caught sight of sharp claws and a red-crowned head. The shock was enough to make him stumble backwards, until he tripped on a tree root and fell squarely onto his rear.
For a minute or so, Volo sat where he had fallen, too stunned to move. He was sure he’d just seen a Pokémon in his bag, but what was it? Why was it there? He reached into his satchel and took out one of his team’s Poké Balls, not checking to see which one he’d grabbed. It didn’t matter. He just wanted to make sure he had some protection, in case the mystery creature decided to attack.
Moving in a low crouch, Volo crept towards his backpack again. “ Hello...? Strange Pokémon? Are you alright? Are you...? ” His voice dropped to a mutter. “ Oh, please say you are not dead. I don’t want a poor dead Pokémon inside my backpack, please... ”
