I'll pretend I've never seen this... MY CANON IS DIFFERENT
NONONO BUT LISTEN
For all she knew, his hair was his favourite thing in the world. Of course, she didnāt know about his motorcycle, but she was right about the hair: Sirius loved it. So, what was the most logical thing to do, in order to curse him without making herself a criminal? Curse his hair. Walburga threw the curse while Sirius was walking away with James. Sirius and James heard the spell being thrown, but none of them could react fast enough, and Sirius was touched right away as Walburga smirked and walked away with the other Blacks.
When the 2 boys arrived home, Siriusās hair already started to look weird. It was messier and sort of gross. The bottom looked greasy. Sirius looked devasted, and it was understandable. James went directly to the books of his father, the ones about hair he used while doing his Sleekeasy potion, and Fleamont and him searched as quick as they could, while Euphemia tried to stop the progression. But it didnāt work.
āCould you call Remus, please?ā
Euphemia Potter sighed and nodded before fire-calling Remus. She knew he was the only one who could cut Siriusās hair, and she knew Sirius was right: the curse was too quick, and Fleamont and James too slow. James went to the room his mother and brother were in, with the idea of helping his mother out in keeping the hair okay, but when he entered, he saw only saw his brother and the face he had.
āMom went to call Remus.ā
That was enough for James to understand what Sirius implied. He stared in shock, wide eyed.
āNo! You canāt... We havenāt tried everything yet!ā
Remus arrived within minutes, and the horrified look when he saw the state of Siriusās hair was enough for him to be certain of what was to do. It was also enough for James to accept it was really too awful, and he slipped out of the room slowly and silently. Sirius handed Remus the scissors with what the other boy think was the most heartbreaking face he ever saw. Within a few minutes, the black-haired boy was short-haired. And even though the curse was stopped, Sirius looked positively destroyed.
A few weeks later, it appeared the short hair were much more handy during fights, and the man decided to keep them short for a while. He kept asking his friend to cut them until he couldnāt anymore.
