1 MONTH OF SLOTH CLIQUE: HOW DID ALL BEGIN?
This post goes to my beasties: Sabs, Emms, Talia, Mary and Mooneh!
Today one month ago I was asked to join a virtual clique, called “Sloth Clique”. I said yes, because I felt really alone, with nobody to talk, with nobody to listen to me. When I agreed, I thought I would find Twitter friends to be weird and awkward with, just chilling and fangirling about Taylor Swift, as we are all Swifties. But what I found was much more than that: I found new real friends, like sisters I want to stick together with through it all. They filled an empty space in my heart in which love and real care was missing. That space belonged to some people else, but they didn’t treat it like they should had.
I bet lot of people think having virtual friends, you can’t see face to face, is strange and fake. Most of you will think is of nerds and creepy people. That in internet there are only psychos. Well, this is not true, trust me. You never how much a person can understand you, till you talk with them. You never know how much a person can make you laugh, till you talk with them. You never know how much you can have in common with someone, till you talk with them. You never know how much the weirdness of a person can make your day bright, till you talk with them. And you never know how much a newcomer can touch your heart, till you talk with them. And now, is safe to say I know all of this.
Sloth Clique is one of the best things that ever happened in my life. I would like to give thanks to two people in special: Mary and Emma. Mary, I found the Sloth Clique thanks to you. Remember when I had a fan account? And when I deleted it and ask everyone to follow me in my other account? You were of the few ones that did it. I loved you since the first moment, when you were “average”. Now you are “sassy” and fabulous, and I’m happy to say “I’m here from the start, SuperMary5”! Thanks to you, I found the Sloth Clique. How? Well, I saw you tweeting to teprometo13, and I was curious because the username was in Spanish, but the account tweeted on English. I never ask accounts these sorts of things, but I was really intrigued so I asked her if she was Spanish. Teprometo13 explained that she was English, but she studied Spanish. Then I followed her, and she followed me. And we start talking. Do you see how easily, but peculiarly can a friendship start? Teprometo13, also known as Emma (Emms for me), and I started talking about different things. She was so friendly, I liked having someone like her.
Meanwhile, I kept seeing Mary and her tweeting always to these two accounts MoonySwiftie (Moony) and wsnwz (Sabrina). I realized that they were Swifties, and as I’m in that fanbase, I followed them, although I never talked to them. Well, things continued running smoothly, when someday I tweeted something like “wish I was in a twitter clique or something”. HERE COMES A CONFESION: I TWEETED THAT IN PURPOSE AS AN INDIRECT. WHY? Well, I had realized that Moony, Sabrina, Emma and Mary had a clique. I always saw their tweets spamming my timeline, every day! I started to feel sad and jealous. I wanted to join the Sloth Clique. I even asked anonymously Emma (teprometo13) in her Ask.fm, what I needed to do to join the Sloth Clique. She answered “ask me on Twitter”. I was like, no, no, no, too shy I can’t! What if they said no? I would be humiliated. No, no, no. Not an option.
I keep thinking and thinking what to do, while I saw another girl called Hannah joining the clique. I wanted to be in it so badly. Finally, I decided to tweet that indirect, with the hope that teprometo13 (Emma), who used to answer to my tweets, would see it and invited me to join the clique. I actually feel a little bad for doing in that way, but I’m a little bit coward, I have to admit it. Sorry if you feel bad about this, never wanted to lie you.
What happened next, is crazy. I went on this chatzy thing and I was presented to the whole clique. My first impression? “This is gonna be a decision I won’t regret”. One month later, I’m still in the clique, and I regret nothing, yeah! I would like to point out the fact that Hannah left the clique, leaving her slot empty. This was immediately occupied by Talia, member of the Cannae Clique (too long explanations I’m not bothered to write about).
Sometimes I really wish Sabs would be on the same timezone as us, because we can hardly talk with her. Then, Mary is always busy or taking twitter breaks! At least she is there and tweets us whenever she can! With the most I talk with are Emms and Mooneh. In Emms I found that friend I can talk to about anything and she will be there to listen. In Mooneh I found a Mooneh. We should all have a Mooneh in our lives, someone to bright our days with jokes and crazy things. Also, Talia is online often. Awww our Scottish friend. I thought she was average, but I realized she is funny and a really good speaker/listener!
What I like most of my beasties from the Sloth Clique? Three things:
1) I can be natural with them.
2) They cheer me up whenever I feel sad.
3) I can talk with them of mature/sensitive topics.
I LOVE THE SLOTH CLIQUE! BECAUSE IS ALL ABOUT BEING OURSELVES, PIZZA HUT, TAYLOR SWIFT AND OUR LIVES!
Well, this post is about the end. The last think I would like to say is this:
Guys, if you ever EVER have the option of joining a Twitter clique, don’t say NO! Can sound mad, but is awesome!
