Gripped with love and a memory:
Sometimes I think I am alone but then I remember that, in the winter of our second year of college, Sarah would always pack a pair of little blue gloves and give them to me when I was cold. I always forgot my gloves and she always gave me hers.
I hadn’t thought about our long freezing morning and evening walks to Trinity for ages, but I was suddenly struck by the memory of how nice it was when she would flourish the scrumply blue ball of gloves out of her bag, like a magic trick of thoughtfulness. Thinking about it now makes me cry. What a good person she is. Also when she didn’t have gloves for herself sometimes she would give me those ones anyway and then we would wear one each or swap halfway home. That’s friends.
I am very lucky and I love Bee.
