so i know you said that was it for the zombie stuff but i also love zombies ๐ so u can totes ignore this but if you ever get the urge to revisit the subject - i'd love to know how a "MC gets bit and asks to be put down" scenario would play out with the ROs ๐
oh man, thatโs hard! a zombie au is already such a starkly different setting than the actual story that itโs hard to answer without filling in a lot of blanks. so this isnโt necessarily revealing of the ROs in a canon way, perhaps in a more โdire straitsโ kinda way.

Gabe begs you not to make him and needs to be coached/talked into it... but heโll do it. Doesnโt let it catch up to him until the coast is clear some time later--thatโs when he finally lets himself break down.
Kile kind of helplessly wracks their brain to come up with a solution first. If itโs a limb, theyโd be one of the, uh, โbestโ companions to have in that moment โcause theyโd be able to amputate without hesitation and know enough first aid to stem immediate bleeding. Otherwise? Lots of cursing, lots of insisting this canโt happen, weakly blaming you for not staying close by... then a goodbye and a quick death. But no way are they leaving you behind to be gnawed on by fuckinโ zeds.
Rupan/Rohan, similar to Gabe, needs to be talked down and into doing it. Theyโre a sobbing mess and firmly in denial that this is the only solution until the change starts taking hold. Then itโs bye and a bullet... and going on to kill every dead thing in sight, even (and maybe especially) if theyโre fatally outnumbered.
Curtโs lip is trembling as he tries to keep the tears and other emotions at bay but immediately understands and commits to it. He sits himself on the ground, brings you into a hug from behind, casts a hand over your eyes and recites scripture and a prayer. Then, death. He refuses to talk to anyone about his feelings on it. Period.
