He’s mumbling to himself.

She hardly even spared a moment to properly dress herself, calling her Inteleon to his pokeball as backup only, before leaping upon Zamazenta’s back. Little communication was needed, as the beast tore off in the direction of Ballonlea, Sherbet keeping pace with her own abilities. Not that her trainer took note--a deep fear had settled in her heart the moment she realized where they were headed, and prayed for things to not be as dire as they seemed.

Zamazenta paused in the small town only momentarily--perhaps to give his master a clear focus--just long enough for the former leader, Opal, to come to the Champion’s side. “Search the Tangle,” she advised, glancing off to the dark woods. “Bring him home safe...”

“I will,” Gloria had replied, much more confidence in her voice than what lay in her heart. Perhaps the years of parading as Champion had some effect on her, after all. Nevertheless, as soon as the promise was spoken, Zamazenta tore off into the nest of The Tangle, with Sherbet following close behind.

Gloria had never been fond of this place even in the brightest of lights. Her mother had told her stories of it, of the fae that played tricks on unsuspecting travelers. How it seemed only fae pokemon like Hatterene could seem to find their way in the mazes they weaved. Since she was a child, and having met creatures of legend, Gloria had taken the stories to heart, and the warnings they carried. To say the very least, The Tangle terrified the young woman to her very core.

“What was that, Be--”

“Some might see it as a game, however you should know that due to the three rules you’ve broken so far you’re now indebted to the fae.”

“Wait- I broke rules? oh-.... I-i mean if the fae need help I dont mind helping but.. is it fair to apply rules to those who aren’t aware..?”
