It is wildly entitled for someone to get upset about you choosing to block instead of “talking it out.” It’s also bitter nonsense when they claim not doing so is “immature”.
“Talking it out” is for when both people are invested in saving the relationship. “Talking it out” is for when there is some level of respect still had for the other person.
It’s okay to walk away from a relationship when it is detrimental to you. It’s okay to walk away from a relationship upon learning new information about the other person or people in it. It’s okay to walk away from a relationship after they have hurt you and you feel like you can’t move on from that hurt. You don’t owe anyone “talking it out” when you know you are closing the door regardless. You especially don’t owe anyone “talking it out” if doing so will be triggering or re-traumatizing.
This goes for all relationships - platonic and romantic.
