So Aaron mostly serves a plot purpose by being the one who wants Zane dead so bad that he kills himself over it. I dislike Aaron in MCD for Many Many reasons…

one of them being that he’s just like. A damn salmon. He 1. Wants to kill Zane 2. Becomes Aph’s baby daddy 3. Kills himself. Hey man at least he’s goal oriented. Not even having an adopted daughter and a pregnant situationship will stop him I guess.

Another one is that he’s boring, sorry (not really). He’s not engaging to me because of how aph is like uncharacteristically just chill with everything he does. He threatens her life and the safety of her village and offers 0 explanations and she just goes “hmm I think I can trust him”…. Girl………. His backstory sucks also. Not sorry. Magic rock that kills everyone I guess. It’s pretty funny actually

Overall I feel like he’s just a very awkwardly included character that really kicks the teeth in every slowburn romance that’s been established so far (garmau garmau garmau. Ily garmau. I’m so sorry about what they did to you), in favor of this random “bad boy” character. His outfit in this high fantasy world consists of a black hoodie with no shirt underneath to reveal his abs, a red bandanna over his eyes, fingerless gloves, and ripped jeans. It is. So ridiculous. Let’s give him a motorcycle too while we’re at it. It feels like he was made to have The Most Tragic Backstory Ever too.

Anyways…. Here’s how I can axe him.

Give it all to Katelyn. Like, actually.

Jeffery and Katelyn can both already be suspicious and somewhat defiant of Zane. Maybe emphasize their bond, they’re insanely good friends, or family, or queerplatonic. Jeffery is the only person in Katelyn’s life that matters to her. Maybe her only real connection. They’re just really close. And then Jeffery is murdered by Zane, although on paper it’s a mystery. And Katelyn is shipped off to investigate it. When she knows who really did it.

What if you were an amnesiac and the only message you had was that you were the disciple of a deity and your only purpose in life is to do good and help other people and you spent a long time with a complex over it but then you got a hot elf wife and everything was okay until you find out you need to fufill what your god demands of you all these years later and you are sudden inflicted with this cross to bear. And you were femme for femme doomed yuri

YES I’m keeping Meowki I and II in the rewrite. I love those demonic cats. Also I want to adapt the Meowki multiplying thing… Meowki was one of those really fluffy cats and it hid the pregnancy. Theoretically Zoey/Zarmina should’ve been able to smell the change in pheremones and whatnot (it’s mentioned that fairies have a supernatural sense of smell)… so I’m actually going to say Meowki I was SO stinky she just couldn’t tell. Meowki II is just as smelly.

First of all. Laurence is either being BORN blind (because truly we do need more characters who are born disabled and aren’t made disabled through traumatic accidents), or he still becomes blind when escaping, but now he stays blind and there’s no magic cure. Because 1. I demand five million more disabled characters 2. That’s significantly more interesting to me 3. DISABLED LOVE INTERESTS!!!

Laurence is also NOT becoming evil or whatever the hell happens at the end of S2 going into S3 because it’s lame. I hate it. It sucks. Laurence becoming evil bc of love and whatever just makes him look like a total scumbag

Second of all. Aphmau can stay being the prettiest most attractive most desirable person in the world because It’s awesome and I DO like it a lot. Yes EVERYONE still finds her desirable. Including women. However I do want to make a distinction between her just being gorgeous and people genuinely loving her for her as a person, and her having some struggles with that.

And. Zoeymau is endgame because I’m sorry to everyone else, but it is INSANE TO ME that Zoey lived in her home, cooked her food, took care of her house, RAISED HER CHILDREN, and gave up her immortality for this woman. All that. Just to get hetslop. I’m not doing it. I cannot do it. I could never disrespect Zoey like that, I’m sorry.

I may just remove Aaron entirely or at least ex him as a love interest because it’s just… not that great. It’s rushed and strange and honestly Aaron’s presence alone kinda makes all the other male characters written to be more incompetent or irrational just so Aaron can be the coolest hottest smartest boy in the room. It sucks. This guy has NO romance on his mind he is literally only thinking about revenge. (Maybe he kind of hates Aphmau… for-shad-owing…)

Uhh I’d probably do some things I’ve mentioned in my past MCD posts (keep Alexis as an adult and explore the horror there, make Nana less… yk… and make her more into mechanics and whatnot) but I also have many many other ideas

Basically. The werewolf marriage arc is NOT happening. Instead, Aphmau gets bitten by a werewolf, and everyone has to scrabble before the full moon to make sure that DOESN’T HAPPEN and also keep her from getting executed.

My MCD rewrite Travis :) her name is Nauja now!!! And she’s a trans woman let’s freaking go

I wanted to lean into the contrast between having demon blood and being of Enki’s bloodline. Her mother had despised her existence, and she had gone unnamed for most of her life. Until she met Ignacia.

Nauja lived with her one purpose being to serve her bloodline, and try to redeem herself for her existence. She would die on this mountain, like the family before her, and she should be grateful she’s even allowed that. She must be grateful. Be grateful that something as horrible and ugly as herself was even allowed to live.

And she meets Ignacia, who is a goddess without control, who has strange awkward limbs with patchy feathers, and not full feathered broad wings like Nauja was taught to believe in. She holds no kindness or favor for the gods. She is a mother, and she is a wife, and she has not the soft smooth face of Irene, but one thats aged, slightly. She has hints of crows feet. She has streaks of gray in her hair. And Nauja looks at her, and thinks maybe she could have that too. She could have a future. She could have a home. A real home. Ignacia offers her one.

Nauja boards that boat with vigor, and she is not dying on that mountain.

And then she figures out she’s transgender LETS GOOOOOOOOO

Nauja: I’m evil I’m demonic there’s something fundamentally wrong and evil about me and the only thing I can do to try to fix it is do what my family’s bloodline is supposed to do and pray the gods take pity on me

Ignacia: well. No. Um. I think you’re really nice actually?? Do you… Want to leave here, or something?

Nauja: *mentally crying and throwing up and vomiting blood*

Garroth is no more. That thing is named Arvid now and he’s like 15 years old and transgender now

The runaway “daughter” of the lord of O’Kasis. Was the next in line to be married. With the oldest son abstaining for religious purposes, and the middle son suddenly and “mysteriously” dying after their dad found out he wasn’t his, it was put onto Arvid. He had to get out of there quickly. Anyways that’s how he happened upon the epic lesbian couple and started causing problems for them.

Arvid REAAALLY wants to be a guard (spent his entire life as the daughter of a lord… he wants to DO STUFF) and keeps trying to get Zee to teach him and she’s like. “Lol. No. you’re like 12…” “Im 15” “EXACTLY” but that doesn’t work so she’s like. “Okay. Well important guard training includes eating and drinking a lot of water and going to sleep on time… uhh hm and walking the dogs…. And helping me clean… and pull weeds…. yeaaaah 😌”
