YES I’m keeping Meowki I and II in the rewrite. I love those demonic cats. Also I want to adapt the Meowki multiplying thing… Meowki was one of those really fluffy cats and it hid the pregnancy. Theoretically Zoey/Zarmina should’ve been able to smell the change in pheremones and whatnot (it’s mentioned that fairies have a supernatural sense of smell)… so I’m actually going to say Meowki I was SO stinky she just couldn’t tell. Meowki II is just as smelly.

First of all. Laurence is either being BORN blind (because truly we do need more characters who are born disabled and aren’t made disabled through traumatic accidents), or he still becomes blind when escaping, but now he stays blind and there’s no magic cure. Because 1. I demand five million more disabled characters 2. That’s significantly more interesting to me 3. DISABLED LOVE INTERESTS!!!

Laurence is also NOT becoming evil or whatever the hell happens at the end of S2 going into S3 because it’s lame. I hate it. It sucks. Laurence becoming evil bc of love and whatever just makes him look like a total scumbag

Second of all. Aphmau can stay being the prettiest most attractive most desirable person in the world because It’s awesome and I DO like it a lot. Yes EVERYONE still finds her desirable. Including women. However I do want to make a distinction between her just being gorgeous and people genuinely loving her for her as a person, and her having some struggles with that.

And. Zoeymau is endgame because I’m sorry to everyone else, but it is INSANE TO ME that Zoey lived in her home, cooked her food, took care of her house, RAISED HER CHILDREN, and gave up her immortality for this woman. All that. Just to get hetslop. I’m not doing it. I cannot do it. I could never disrespect Zoey like that, I’m sorry.

I may just remove Aaron entirely or at least ex him as a love interest because it’s just… not that great. It’s rushed and strange and honestly Aaron’s presence alone kinda makes all the other male characters written to be more incompetent or irrational just so Aaron can be the coolest hottest smartest boy in the room. It sucks. This guy has NO romance on his mind he is literally only thinking about revenge. (Maybe he kind of hates Aphmau… for-shad-owing…)

Uhh I’d probably do some things I’ve mentioned in my past MCD posts (keep Alexis as an adult and explore the horror there, make Nana less… yk… and make her more into mechanics and whatnot) but I also have many many other ideas

Basically. The werewolf marriage arc is NOT happening. Instead, Aphmau gets bitten by a werewolf, and everyone has to scrabble before the full moon to make sure that DOESN’T HAPPEN and also keep her from getting executed.

Like… it’s obviously not a one to one comparison, but Zane did intentionally give her the pendant knowing it would create a baby, and it would be hers, and he did not inform her of that at all. She “carried” this child, even was physically unwell because of it, without her knowledge or consent. I don’t know if it was intentional, but even if it wasn’t, it’s still so incredibly discomforting and iirc not treated with the seriousness it should be.’ Also the aspect that it was left up to Aphmau to tell Kiki if the baby was her blood or not.. that’s!! Gross!!! That’s not for Aph to decide if she should know or not.

Laurance my Laurance… okay first of all, he’s already blind, and had slowly lost his sight from his teen years and on. Second of all, he’s already Aphmau/Ignacia’s guard by the start of the story.

Honestly I find Laurance and Aphmau’s meeting not very interesting, and hard to make interesting while staying canon compliant… so… whatever. I want to keep the aspect of him not being from Pheonix Drop because I like that a lot, and Cadenza my darling, she’s gonna still be his sister.

I’m going to say that Laurance is Ignacia’s personal guard, so that Zoey/Zarmina can take care of the village. Z trusts him! She’s vetted his ability, and more than that, Ignacia trusts Laurance.

Laurance deserves a cool unique way of fighting! Honestly sword fighting with vision issues isn’t the most practical thing from what I know, but keep in mind I know fuck all about sword fighting. So.. maybe he can do that, but he also works with more tactile-fighting, like grappling, or wrestling… and he can get something cool and unique to help. I do still need to figure out the degree of his blindness too.

But he’s not just Ignacia’s guard bc he’s good at guarding, but because he has a lot to offer. He’s the child of a highly respected lord! He’s well behaved, he’s not overly aggressive or cold, and certainly not overbearing. He’s a friend to wyverns. Laurance should be something of a larger-than-life character for guards. He was top of his class at the academy, he was this and he was that… and you get to know him personally and he’s actually a huge drama queen loser.

All to say… They keep Laurance around because he’s good at his job, and he and Ignacia are friends, but also because his name has a fair bit of weight.

I don’t really know how I want to adapt the Shadow Knight thing… honestly I’m significantly less interested in the Shadow Knight and Shadow Lord plotline than I am in the Okasis plotline. It’s just cooler to me. But I DO still want to carry it over in some way, and he can have cool eeeeevil powers.

I want to say that post shadow knight torture, Laurance, Zarmina, and Ignacia are like these two posts, and they could be in a sort of… co-parenting situation maybe, because of how Levin and Malachi feel like Laurence is their dad (iirc? They say something like that). Epic yuri couple and the guy living in their basement.

Ignacia (Aph) is Eirene in a way, Nauja (Travis) is Enki’s descendant, and I thinnkkk I’m going to mess with things so that Esmund is the one who created fairies via his death, so Zarmina (Zoey) is connected to him in that way. The other guys… I’ll figure it out.
