Gianna's POV

They found Alois in one of the rooms tucked in the lesser used hallways. He was on a velvet couch, several faeries around him in various states of undress, one palming the front of his navy trousers roughly and the other standing over him, blood trickling down her thigh from a rather lengthy incision and into his eager mouth. 

Around the room were other nobles in similar states of ecstasy, flesh set aflame and long tongues lapping at wounds. A male grunting as another rode him from behind, both dressed in the finery of Montesere’s most high ranking courtiers. Scandalized in the corner were several fae from Rask, jaws agape and holding onto one another as though one of them might come adrift and into the welcoming lap of her cousin whose pants were now tugged halfway down his thighs. A pair of servants offered the two guests a sip of liquor, which often was drugged with a kind of mulled fruit that would ensure they would lose themselves.

Al looked over at his sister and smiled, reaching up to fondle the female above him. Gianna rolled her eyes. Not this again. 

Beside her,  Ludivine trembled, fists clenched and eyes a swirling black as she took in the scene. Gianna had never understood this dynamic between her cousins. A kind of rivalry of the flesh. Where Alois pleasured, Ludivine tormented. Both hunters in their own right. Up until now Ludivine had been too young to participate, but now - today - that would change. 

“It’s garden time.” Gianna said. Alois stopped his indulgences at once, and shoved the females off him, not caring as they tumbled to the floor, bleeding and dazed. He tugged his pants up as he approached and stepped over a faerie gasping for air as another's hands closed around their throat.
