According to yesterday’s article, pre-order exceeded 1 million. Please tell us how you feel about preparing for your new album, “Heng:garae.” I think SEVENTEEN will be able to go up more like “Heng:garae.” I’ll try harder to do that.

But is there a higher “up?” There’s a similar story in the music video “My My.” In the music video, our boat is floating in the sky. So I was asked this question. “Where is this ship heading?” So I show that I want to go farther than we go higher, because the ship is already in the sky - how higher up do we go? I think I just want to go longer.

The theme of this album is youth. What is youth to The8? I want to live more as who I am. I want to express myself a lot more. Drawing a lot of pictures, choreography, dancing… No, rather than the term “dancing”, it’s about expressing with my body. Expressing with pictures, expressing with music, expressing with lyrics, all of these things like that. I might find out who I am by creating something. I’m trying to show more of myself to my CARATs and people who see me.

I enjoyed the part in where you were spraying paint on coats and painting on it. Are you interested in clothes reform? We’ve had a long break ‘til now. I always draw something. So that the words I can’t say are expressed through paintings, which relieve stress by expressing and comforting myself. Because there’s a limit to what I can express in words. Since I can’t express too much emotion, it’s a big part in my life to be able to express myself in fashion or painting while drinking wine alone.

I watched your special video of the 5th anniversary on YouTube. You’ve switched roles, and it must have been the time to think about how others saw you or how you saw other members. Have you thought about the difference between the self you think you are and the The8 of the group SEVENTEEN? I felt something. What I’m doing on my own is a habit? Rather than a habit, my hobbies or my personal life are really myself that are expressed genuinely. But it can be fun for other people, or CARAT could think… is he doing it because he wants to do it? Is he doing it because he likes it? Or is he trying to make an image? I realized there could be these kinds of perceptions. But on the other hand, no matter how it feels to others, why does it matter? I just want to live my life as I want, and I think I’d be happy if I could give good energy to the person next to me, whether it’s through painting or an atmosphere. I’m already happy to be alone, but if I can be more fun and talkative, it’s already more than my ideal of what I want to be, so I thought I’d definitely want to live as myself.

Would you like to show your fans the pictures you’ve painted so far? My paintings are to remember any emotions that come to mind at the moment, the feelings at the moment, and the memories of the past. In that sense, I was scared to show them. What if the fans think it’s bad and worry about me if I show them? And it’s too much of my emotion, so I was embarrassed to have other people see it, and I didn’t want to show it. But as time goes by, I realize that I am the same person now and then, and everything is myself, so I believe the fans will acknowledge it. If I get a chance, I want to have an exhibition. I hope I can share beautiful things with my fans and bond with them. If they know me a little more, I think it’ll be better for the person I am. That’s why I am showing the paintings.
