Hey, all! So, as I was searching for some audition material that I had been considering using for future auditions, I noticed that I’d have to type out a lot of Starkid monologues if I ever wanted to have those available. And I thought...why not share those with others? So, under the read more, you’ll find an organized list of monologues from different Starkid shows, complete with credits to the writers so that you’re golden for your auditions! Don’t hesitate to reblog, share it amongst the nerds! And if anybody else has typed out monologues, feel free to shoot me a message and I’ll add it to the list, along with a note saying who transcribed it!

A collection of monologues that I think are p cool. This list will be added to later. I’ll add some comedic ones later, but this is just dramatic for now.

Dramatic Female: (Trigger warnings.)

Fail Fast.

Honestly, I have no idea what this monologue is from; it might not even be from anything. But I stumbled across it and, from what I can tell, the character is very badass, and got army commander vibes from it. She is advising what I see as troops on how failure is good for you.

Kim - Collaboration. 

Kim confesses to her best friend that she’s in love with him. Late teen, angsty, dramatic, a range of emotions.

Dogface - Dogface.

There’s two monologues here plus a blood trigger warning. One where she explains what happened to her when she was seven (how she got the name Dogface) and one when she’s confronting her friend who she had sex with. I’d say this is young adult but could be late teen too. When I read this as the character I did start to cry sO THIS IS VERY ANGSTY AND DRAMATIC also very very sad. 

Leah - Like Dreaming, Backwards.

Suicide trigger warning here. Leah is the mother of a young collage student named Nell. She explains in this monologue how she found Nell after she committed suicide. Adult (30-50 y/o maybe.) but it doesn't’ really matter. I really liked this monologue and if needed it can be adapted to make it sound like Leah is Nells friend or smt. Idk if this is sad or not because it’s quite short, so you can see for yourself I guess. 

Carla - Your Money’s Worth.

Carla, a really bad therapist, confronts her patient. Depression/suicide trigger warning. I’d say this is suitable for a 20-40 y/o. Dramatic and angry. Might include some shouting depending on how you do it. 

Dramatic Male: (Trigger warnings.)

The Painter - Hold Still.

This monologue is from a play about a painter who hires models to paint that remind him of his sister who disappeared in his childhood. In the monologue, The Painter remembers how he had butterfly competitions with his sister. Personally I think this would be read kind of casually but the pace would go up and down a lot! 20-whatever y/o.

Seth - That Was Then.

Seth is a high school student who is explaining how he almost wanted to tell his homophobic father that he was gay. Bullying trigger warning. Teen or 20 y/o. 

Tim - It Came From Texas.

Here, Tim loses patience with one of his guests - the ridiculously clingy Beth, who still loves Jonas, her ex, despite his complete lack of interest. Beth has just called Tim weird. Kind of angry. Tim is kind of intimidating. Teen or 20 y/o. 

Josh - Bang Bang You’re Dead.
