Gathering tons of prints for a wholesale order to our friends @artsmithspgh this morning to drop off today & It’s has me thinking about #SmallBusinessSaturday. I have a day “off” from our Holiday Chalet Shop (scroll back in my feed a post or two for more on that Pop- Shop!) It’s easy to talk about shopping locally and with handmade goods by local makers. But sometimes it’s not always easy to fully see what means. We’re a 2-person Studio, but shopping with us means we spend *our* dollars on materials and supplies right here in PA as much as we can source locally. Like inks, paper, squeegees, business cards, and much more. It also means that we participate and engage with local shops by wholesaling our prints and goods, and those shops in turn employ local people providing not just jobs but careers and mentorship and small business support for those employees *and* the artists and makers they showcase. Who, in turn grow their businesses often to have employees of their own. The web of people we all support by shopping with Small Businesses and spending our hard earned money locally in our communities is immense! Truly. And personally, as a consumer and a producer/Maker I can’t even begin to describe how grateful I am to be a part of this groundswell local economy 365 days a year. Thank you so much from all of us! 💙 • •#smallbusiness #handmadebusiness #makersgonnamake #handcraft #silkscreen #printmaking #screenprinting #craft #craftentrepreneur #monmade #artsmiths #strawberryluna (at The Artsmiths of Pittsburgh)
